A Bunch Of Dead Dahllias

A Bunch of Dead Dalias: Zara Carpenter

Every year for the Day of The Dead I make a shrine in my house to honour the people we have lost: my father and my husband’s grandfather. We place a bouquet of flowers at its centre to remind us of their love of nature, my husband’s grandfather was a horticulturist. As the flowers slowly begin to decay, and at that moment when the flower are almost falling apart, I create images of them. An expression of love, loss, grief and remembrance.
