Dark Peak Photo CIC statement
Dark Peak Photo is a not for profit organisation which will enable us to seek funding opportunities to provide opportunities of education, training , exhibitions for the community through photography practice at all levels of skill and interest.
The company’s activities will provide benefit to local communities via its activities and projects in photographic techniques and technology and may include video and film. In particular the company will benefit communities by:
promoting photography skills in support of local history, social movements and sense of connection.
Supporting people at risk of social isolation and loneliness.
Providing activities that support positive mental health and well-being.
Encouraging people in local communities to engage and connect with each other through photography whilst also looking outwards to national and international connections.
Activities:
To gather, produce photographic exhibitions small scale and also large scale events such as an annual or Bi-annual photography festival
Small scale film creation in connection to the art form of photography
To create and deliver photographic projects and workshops
Projects combining photographic engagement at a community level
To leverage and promote photographic art form using digital , analog photography and experimental photography techniques for the enjoyment of local history, community engagement, advocacy and tourism
How will the activity benefit the community?
Promoting positive mental health, well-being and self-worth
Engaging with people at risk of isolation and loneliness
Creating opportunities for activities to positive connections and collaboration opportunities for photographers at all levels
Encouraging learning and understanding about photography, photography techniques to foster inspiration for all ages
To create a sense of community through photography and film activities.
Providing opportunities to promote a sense of place and support local tourism
If the company makes any surplus it will be used for reinvesting into further photographic and film projects and provide workshops, events and exhibitions aligned to the objectives of the organisation.
